Premium Steel Pipes
How many quality control (QC) checks are required for premium steel pipes before dispatch?
1.Raw
material inspection for round steel
Incoming Inspection of Round Bars: We
strictly match each procurement batch by verifying Material Test Certificates
(MTC) against heat numbers, lengths, diameters, and surface conditions. This
ensures full traceability to prevent material mixing at the source and
guarantees that no sub-standard materials are used.
2.Wall
Thickness Variation Inspection of Pierced Hollows
During
the piercing process, we inspect the wall thickness variation and surface
quality of the hollow shells. If any issues such as out-of-tolerance dimensions
or guide shoe marks are detected, immediate adjustments are made.
3.Dimensional
& Surface Inspection for Pierced Hollows
Inspect
dimensions and surface quality after cooling to ensure the hollow shells meet
quality standards.
4.IPQC
(In-Process Quality Control)
IPQC & Sampling: For every
process—including annealing, pickling, cold drawing, and cold
rolling—inspections for size, surface integrity, and mechanical properties are
mandatory. Each batch requires trial production and sign-off by the shift
leader prior to full-scale manufacturing.
5.Dimensional
Inspection of Finished Pipes
100% Finished Product Inspection: Every
single pipe undergoes end-cropping and a thorough inspection of dimensions and
surface integrity. This "piece-by-piece" process is our final quality
gate before dispatch to ensure zero defects.
6.Mechanical
Property Testing:Tensile

Testing
Mechanical Property Testing: For steel pipes with
specific performance requirements, we conduct tests for tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and hardness. Prior
to mass production, a pilot test
is performed, and full-scale manufacturing only begins once the results are
qualified. Furthermore, sampling
inspections are carried out on finished products before dispatch to
ensure all requirements are consistently met.
7.Eddy
Current Testing
For
fluid pipes with a wall thickness of less than 3mm, 100% Eddy Current Testing
(ECT) is performed to detect surface defects.
These
are the essential inspection steps for premium steel pipes. For products
requiring high surface integrity, we exercise extra care at every stage of the
QC process to ensure that only the finest pipes reach our customers.
